THE COACHING OF NATIONAL BASKETBALL REFEREE

Basic Interpretive Study on the Referee of Indonesian Basketball Association

Abstract

^{This research aimed to know the background of Perbasi referee coaching, human resources involved, coaching implementation, professional achievement, and funding of basketball referee coaching of Perbasi. The research method used was qualitative research method with basic interpretative study research. The data collection technique used interview, observation, and document analysis. The data validity technique used triangulation technique. The data analysis was implemented in four steps, there were: data collection step, data reduction step, data presentation step, conclusion taking step. The research result showed that the development of basketball game was better and were more growing, so in 1951 basketball organization, Persatuan Bolabasket Seluruh Indonesia (Perbasi) were established.  The purpose of doing the referee coaching is to ease the performance or referee program, to improve the quality of referee and to equalize the basketball referee potency. Human resources involved in the coaching were the management, coach, and referee through strict recruitment. The implementation of coaching program was done through upgrading and training. The achievement of the referee’s professionalism expected after being trained was the referee is not only understanding the duty but also the interpretation or the application that has been learned. The payment got from the referee was based on the duty in doing the referee in the led match. In leading, the match was adjusted to the license that referee had.}
