The aim of this study was to examine the comparison of sprint tests with and without rackets in tennis players on physiological state and performance. These sprint tests were consisted of repeated-straight sprint 0°, shuttle sprint 180°, change-of-direction sprint 100°. All the tests were occurred 6 x 25 m maximal sprints with passive recovery between sprints. Rating of perceived exertion (RPE) and heart rate (HR) values were recorded at the 25 m end of each sprint. Competing male athletes (aged 13-17 years) were participated in this study. Randomized and self-controlled study design was used in this study. Paired t-test was used to compare the same direction with and without rackets. Repeated-measures ANOVA was used depending on distribution in average comparisons of three different directions (0°, 180°, 100°) with or without rackets. Best (STbest) and mean (STmean) sprint times differed significantly (p <.05) same directions in comparison results. But there were no significant (p >.05) in physiological parameters (HRrest, HRmean, HRmax, RPEmax). There were significant in HRmean, HRmax, STbest, STmean variables in three different directions sprint tests with and without rackets (p <.05). According to these results, change of direction (COD) training should be done to increase sprint speed with racket.
