Abstract

In recent years, several researches have been conducted in the field of sports science, and most of these researches are based on the data received through various field tests or questionnaires [1]. By applying data analysis software such as SPSS, we are able to analyze the data and use this data in our research reports and articles.

An important point that sports scientists have always emphasized is the limitations of these types of software. We can always use the pre-defined commands of this software to analyze data and draw graphs. If a researcher wants to create more different analyses or design a chart based on his creativity, he will undoubtedly face problems in working with these types of software. On the other hand, these types of software are designed in such a way that predetermined data must be entered into them, and then data analysis is performed. One of the big limitations is the volume of data that must be entered, or the way of data entry is associated with many limitations. For example, entering and analyzing data from more than 1000 subjects is a difficult calculation with traditional methods [2].

In recent years, data science has come to the aid of many sciences as one of the extensions of computer science and math. This science has been able to revolutionize world trade and has also had many effects on health sciences [3]. Sports science will also have to go to data science to expand its scientific research, and now some universities have also moved in this direction.

By using the Python programming language and data science and using powerful software libraries such as Pandas and Numpy, we will be able to easily receive, clean, analyze and visualize large online and batch data [4]. In fact, by using this science, we will easily analyze big data and use its results in sports science. Also, in this science, we will be able to use online data received from sensors or web applications to analyze data and use its results.

This short article has partially shown the necessity of using data science in sports science research. If the universities do not include data science in their research today, they will soon be out of the scientific competition in the world. To start entering this science, research can be carried out with the cooperation of data scientists so that soon this science can be used independently in sports science.

I hope this article was useful for dear readers and researchers.
